What are Potato Chips? Simply put, they are thin slices of potato that have been baked, deep-fried, or air-fried. They are commonly served as snacks, appetizers, or side dishes.

The process of making chips is relatively simple. Potatoes are first peeled and cut into very thin slices. They are then placed in a large bowl of ice water and salt. After soaking, the potatoes are spread on paper towels to dry them. Next, the potato slices are sprinkled with the seasoning mixture. A continuous process was eventually developed for potato chip manufacturing. The chips can now be produced in a continuous cycle, where they are run through a vat of hot oil and then dried.
