The main difference between them is that sealants have higher elongation and lower strength as compared to adhesives. Adhesives connect materials together but are not always elastic. While, sealants also connect materials, but sealing the joint in between substrates and can also absorb the movements within the joint. Different types of adhesives and sealants are available in the market for a variety of purposes. In August 2022, PPG planned to invest US$ 9 million to expand an existing product line at its Temple, Texas facility. The project expanded PPG’s adhesives and sealants line to meet growing demand.
