The main difference between them is that sealants have higher elongation and lower strength as compared to adhesives. Adhesives connect materials together but are not always elastic. While, sealants also connect materials, but sealing the joint in between substrates and can also absorb the movements within the joint. Different types of adhesives and sealants are available in the market for a variety of purposes. Each type has its own specific use, and their use can be classified according to how they are used and what their specific uses are.

In August 2022, PPG planned to invest US$ 9 million to expand an existing product line at its Temple, Texas facility. The project expanded PPG’s adhesives and sealants line to meet growing demand.
